Files Missing from drive...

Hi all....
I have an 80G HDD which is the OS (Xp) (C and a 120G for music, etc. The 120G is in 2 partitions (D which was empty & (E 10ishGb used..... I wanted to resize the partitions on this drive so to be on the safe side I moved all the files from E: over to C: drive....Finished the partition and moved them back, as a habit after this type of work I restarted the computer......Now the E: drive shows the new size, 40ishGb aswell as total free space, 30ishGb.......So 10ishGb used.....Only when I open the drive there are no files to be found.....!

Most grateful for any input......

What program did you use to repartition the drive? Odds are the files are there but the partition may be screwed up. There is a free program called "test disk" that may allow you recover the files by rebuilding the partition table. Just google test disk to find it.
