It seems like my current LG unit is on it's last leg and I was wondering which would be a good replacement. I was considering this one:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...nufacture=ASUS Any suggestions on that drive or any other alternatives are greatly appreciated. PS: Do not recommend burners, please.

That should be decent - Sony is a good one too. Too bad your LG is dying - I've had good luck with them too. Lite-Ons are noisy.

OK. Ya, this unit gave a lot of good service. But lately I have noticed skipping in movies, and sometimes the movie will stop at some point and go back to the next chapter or to the main menu.

Have you tried a lens cleaner?

Whoops! Sorry I missed your post, G; sometimes this e-mail notification doesn't work as it should.
Nope. I'll do that. I ain't buying the replacement right away, as it's still working and I want to get the new one for my new build. But if it goes belly up on me, I wanted to make sure I know what to buy. Thanks. |
