Asus mobo compatibility
Hey what's up?
I am working on a new build and want to know if the A8N-SLI is compatible with standard ATX towers. I am a little confused because of the 8 channel sound system. Will it fit into any ATX tower? Most towers I look at only have 3 audio ports in the rear, unlike the Asus A8N which has 6 ports. If you could recommened towers that you like and that fit will hold the mobo that would also help me. |

Yes, the A8N-SLI is an ATX board and will fit in any ATX case (not micro-ATX though).
You won't use the standard I/O plate (where the ports on the rear are) that ships with the case. You'll swap that one out for the one that comes with the motherboard...the one with the case won't work with all motherboards as most are going to have a port or two switched around or whatnot (6 audio ports in your board). That's why mobo's ship with a compatible I/O plate that will work. I'd look at Antec, Thermaltake, Cooler Master, and Lian-Li cases (just to name a few).

Motherboards come with their own I/O shields.
The Asus board will fit just fine, 8 channel surround sound and all, in a standard ATX tower case. Check out this shot of an Asus SLI board : http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...ard+%2D+Retail The I/O shield is lower right.

yeah a standard atx mobo will fit into any mid atx case or full atx case (not micro atx) and yeah the motherboard came with its own i/o plate your prolly going to want a mid tower unless your putting alot stuff in there or you just want the extra space. id go with newegg they have almost anything you could want |
