Hi, this is my first time posting, and I absolutely need help with my computer. I have to admit that I am a complete computer dummy, and when my CD-rom broke the other day, I thought I would be "smart" and take it out on my own to fix it. Somehow, I screwed up
, and when I took my computer to the store, they told me that the motherboard was broken, and that it would take $200 to replace it. When my friend helped me put the computer together 2 years ago, it was $44 for my motherboard!Long story short, they told me that I absolutely have to buy the exact same motherboard for my hard drive to be compatible with it. I can't find the same motherboard online, and I have no clue what other models are compatible with my computer. So can anyone please help? My original motherboard is the ASUS P4SGX-MX Socket 478 SIS 650GX Micro ATX Intel Motherboard. And this is the list of products that Newegg.com told me I can buy since they don't have the oringinal anymore. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ription=13-131 It would be absolutely great if any one of you can help, since I really don't want to pay 200 bucks to replace it. Thanks a million! |

You can put any Socket 478 motherboard in there. All you have to do is a repair reinstall of Windows.
Do you need a video card slot, or is onboard video okay? Here's my recommendations, one with onboard video only, the other with a card slot: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131504 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131460 |
