Water Pump
What is the best water pump that is really quiet, powerful, and not expensive. The noise and price are my highest concerns with noise being just above price.
Thanks. |

What size fittings? Makes things easier if you dont use adapters. Also pumps by Dangerden, eheim, and swiftech would be best.

Well..AC or DC?
And telling us what you will be combining that pump with would realllllly help.

It needs to be 1/2. It will be used with a Swiftech Apogee Water Block. It does not matter if it is AC or DC.

How about a Aquaxtreme MCP 650? Great pump, low heatdump, quiet.
Around 70 bucks. Or is that to high of a price? |

Id go with a swiftech MCP655, i have the 650 and it works just great. The 655 can has a manual adjustment so you can fine tune the noise to preformance ratio. IMO the 650 is quiet, the 655 being quieter then that...heck you will barely hear it.

True but the only problem I see with that one is, if he doesnt have enough restriction in his loop, and or doesnt have a bigger rad to cool it, the mcp655 will make temps higher due to the higher heatdump(25 watts) compared to around 9 watts for the 650. And since this is a low restriction loop (apogee) the mcp650 will be more then enough to handle it.
But either one will serve you very very nicely. That mcp655 is a very reliable pump, has a longer mbtf compared to the aquaxtreme mcp650. link here: http://www.petrastechshop.com/aq50in12pu.html Btw what rad/heatercore will you be using? Last edited by Mr.Ferrari; 07-07-2006 at 04:18 AM. |

Ack for some reason it wont let me edit.
What I meant was Aquaxtreme 50z. Also known as a MCP 600. 650 also known as D4 is the old generation of MCP 655 also known as D5. Too many 6's! lol. |

Oh, just one more thing, I know your not asking advice on this, But. The swiftech apogee isnt really all that great as swiftech keeps saying.
Infact. There is a waterblock which will make apogee's barb's twist in agony for 10 bucks less. http://www.dtekcustoms.com/index.asp...ROD&ProdID=153 MP-05 PRO. Will even make even a storm nervous, although, does not beat it. Theres also a MP-05 PRO LE and a SP LE. But PRO is definately the most bang for the buck. |
