Computer running a little hot
I looked at the thread titled "System tempuratures" and everybody was saying that his system was running hot, but my temps are even higher. I took three idle temps for the cpu, mb, and gpu. It is summer over here, but it's not that hot.
Cpu: 48, 49, 49 = 48.3 C MB: 36, 37, 37 = 36.6 C Gpu: 58, 58, 59 = 58.3 C Asus A8n5x AMD 64 3700 San Diego Nvidia 6800XT I have four 80 fans. The front and side suck in, the back and top blow out. This is normal, right? |

your fans are setup correctly. Have you cleaned the dust out of your computer? what sort of Heat sinks do you have?
Make sure that the Wire Management in your case is good so that there is adequate airflow.

All of your temps look okay to me. If you are not having any problems, don't worry.

is that a good general rule to follow with the fan setup?
front/side suck in ; back/top blow out? currently in my system i just have the power supply fan, cpu fan, 1 90mm on the back and theres on on the front. i know the power supply fan blows out and i had the back 90mm one sucking in (should i reverse it?). not srue about the front |

Yes, the typical setup is a rear fan for exhaust and the front fan for intake. That way cool air comes into the computer, while the hot air from your video card and CPU is pulled out the back.

that makes sense. and the top is exhaust too then?
ok what about this though.......me and my wife had to compromise. i got to do what i want to build the pc and she got to pick the furniture SO she picked one that has one of those side cabinets for the pc tower with some ventilation in the back but theres a door on the front. i cant image this is very good for the towers air flow, can it? i'm thinking about cuting the whole back out behind the pc to get a little better air |

Top is exhaust because hot air rises.
Yes, I would add some ventilation to the cabinet, if you can. |

i'm going to try my best. right now there's just a hole towards the top of the back and one towards the bottom of the back for wires. i'm thinkin bout just opening the whole back because i dont even think the case will fit in there and let the door shut with how deep it is |

Something weird happened to my pc starting this morning. Whenever I turn it on/reboot it, it gives me the warning "Warning: CPU fan fail or too low. F1 to continue, DEL to setup." But the thing is, everything's fine. My temps are normal/cool and my fan is >1500 rpm.

Thats..odd..Are you sure the fan tail is connected properly? Is some sort of utility on in the bios that makes it run at a slower speed when not neccesary?
I get that message when I dont have anything connected to the specific fan connector on the mobo. I just go into bios and make it ignore the fan detection on the cpu fan.

You can go into the BIOS settings (not sure what menu, but it shouldn't be too hard to find) and I think you can change the "low fan" warning threshold. If it's like 1600rpm, then that would cause that error. You could probably just turn the warning off too. What's probably happening is when you first turn the PC on, the heatsink is cold so the fan doesn't starting spinning too fast right away...
