processors and sockets (trends)

if i were to purchase a new AM2 motherboard now would i be able to install another newer processor (using AM2 socket) on that same motherboard later in the future?

would only need to update BIOS?

Please post in the correct forum, and do NOT post multiple threads. This thread is closed.
