Loud Motherboard Fan

I use a DFI LanParty mobo and there's a fan on the mobo that is starting to make a really loud noise when it operates. WHen the fan goes faster, the noise is louder. I don't know what it is. Sometimes it stops, others it just won't. ANy ideas as to whether I can fix it or whether it's a problem?

Tried cleaning dust from the fan? Use a vacum for that. If its still there, then the fan may be faulty.

Sounds like the fan is defective. If the motherboard is still under warranty, contact DFI for a replacement fan.

Be careful with that vacuum. Take the fan completely out! Vacuums inside cases are a wreck waiting to happen. That fan probably has a sleeve bearing. Clean it, spray a tiny amount of WD40 on the shaft housing. If that makes it go quiet, you need to get a new fan.
