DVD Burner Fried?

I'm tyring to burn DVD's with my DVD burner and for some reason it says there is a "session fixation error" when it tries to finish burning. What could be causing this? I have been burning alot of DVD's lately and maybe the thing finally died. I have no clue. I do have a log from one of the failed burners. Any help would really be appreciated.

I looked around on a lot of different burning forums and the general reply seems to be:
Try a different brand of Media
Update the firmware
Clean the lense
Replace the drive.
HERE is a list of Atapi errors. Sorry I couldn't be more precise.

1. Does your CD-RW still work?

2. Download the latest update to Nero 6 and install it.

3. Make sure the IDE controllers are in DMA mode.

I already updated the firmware and Nero. The CD-RW does not work, but it can read DVDS/CDs. It is set in DMA Mode. The only thing I haven't tried was cleaning the lens. Also, with the media I tried the same files with the same DVD on a different burner and it worked fine. So, it is not the media or the files.

So - *NO* burner works in that computer? Will either of your burners work in another computer?

Oh, the CD Burner works, I thought you meant the CD-RW on the DVD Burner. The CD Burner works. I haven't tired putting the DVD burner in another computer however.

If the CD burner works but the DVD burner doesn't, with fixation errors, it's most likely the DVD burner is shot. It *might* just be a dusty lens, you can try a cleaning CD in it.
