Dell Computer CPU running at 100% need help
For the past Two weeks my Desktop computer is running extremely slow, the system is running on Windows XP-home editon, AMD Athlon 3400, 512Ram,120HD. I now is not a memory problem. I found out that by bringing the task manager (Ctl+Alt+Del) I only see the program I am running at the time, but what 's taking all the Proccessing is IExplore.exe using 99% of the resource from the CPU. If I kill the program windows dies out. I tried runing Mcaffee virus thinking I might have gotten a virus, but the darn system wont run it because its so slow that it took two days and no virus found. then I run Spyware and no treads of spyware were found yeat it took 18hrs. Does anyone have an idea why my system slow dramatically within the last two weeks? I am wondering if a F...ken patch from microsoft did this to me! any help or suggestions will be gladly taken. I delete cookies, cache, temp files, offline web pages etc. nothing seem to help, and again only one program is running at the a time. I should mention I have other accounts that log in to my this P.C (my two kids and my wife) I checked their space and the same thing is going on. (oviously is the same pc after all, just separe accounts to log in). Frustrated and ready to throw this F..ken Machine against the wall.

Chief suspect in your case would be McAfee, particular if you are using the suite edition. I would try disabling and/or uninstalling McAfee and see if the problem disappears.
