Notebook hard drive fix questions
I have an IBM thkpad 570e it has a 6 gb hd.
lost admin password for win 2000 and now hd says os not found when power up. can i reformat with win xp disk that came with my dell? why wont it recognize drive in 2.5" enclosure? wont recognize my hitachi 2.5 30gb either. what do you advise? |

Nope, the Dell CD is locked to a Dell bios. You need the IBM restore CD or you need to buy a generic copy of Windows. I'd first advise running some hard drive diagnostics, you may need a new hard drive.
