Asus A8N-VM CSM problem

I am building a new computer that my wife bought this weekend. Everything is together and when I power it up I get power lights on the front and all drives and fans are running but I'm not getting any video signal and the CD Rom drive won't open even though the light is on steady. What I have is an Asus A8N-VM CSM motherboard with a AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ Socket 939,2 1024MB sticks of UltraDDR Memory, a Seagate 300 GB Hard Drive and a AFT Internal Card Reader. This is all stuffed into an Antec Minuet 300 case. Everything is brand new so I haven't formatted the drive or installed my operating system, mainly because I can't get the CD drive to open to install it and like I said, no video signal. This board has 2 channels for memory which i have never built before and I installed both sticks in DIMM A1 and A2. The book is a little vague on this step and this could possibly be the problem. The case only has 2 bays which limits me but that is what she wants so there is no floppy drive. Do I need a floppy drive? HELP!!!!

Asus problem

I found the problem. This board in addition to the standard power connection also uses an ATX Power Connection. This is new to me. As soon as I plugged it in everything came up perfect. Thanks.

One thing, don't connect that card reader untill after the OS is installed.
It will hijack the C drive designation.
