Question Cooling advice on an intel core 2 duo e6400?!

Well with the help of the people on this forum I've decided to build another computer and I'm going to get an intel core 2 duo e6400 for a processor. What heatsink and fan should I use for this setup? I don't want liquid cooling and if I do overclock it's won't be that much over stock but I still want to run the CPU nice and cool As for the thermal compound, will regular arctic silver do the trick, or should I invest a little more into some better thermal compound?

Use the stock heatsink. If you're not overclocking, it will work quite nicely, as that was what it was designed to do. I would expect the Conroe's to run very cool by design.

Yeah, the stock Intel heatsink and fan unit should be fine. Just make sure the case you get meets Intel's thermal requirements. Install the right amount of case fans, make sure your wiring is neat, get the proper power supply for your system's requirements and you shouldn't have any problems.

If you ever do decide to replace the thermal compound, I suggest Arctic silver 5. And follow the directon exactly as they are on www.arcticsilver.com.

Ive personally have arctic silver'd every single heatsink in my computer.
