Data Recovery

After my computer froze up I had someone perform data recovery of my hard drive but he did not recover the most important folders which were text of books we had written and saved in our hard drive. He only recovered pictures and he cleaned out the hard drive after he finished recovery and reinstalled windows. Is there any way to retrieve those books now or is it too late? He claims he could not recover any more data than he did, is that possible?

Its now fairly unlikely to recover anything, its possible if you went with a data recovery company they could have got most of your stuff back. What exactaly do mean by "froze up"? It seems since your on the computer again that there was no physical problem with the HDD so id bet ALL of your data should have been recoverable using the right tools or simply going the professonal but quite expensive way.
