Wolf King: Ultimate FPS Keyboard

Hey there! First review, gimme a break.

I have been using the the Wolf King keyboard for a few months now, and have been so pleased with it I thought I'd write this up.

Here's a picture(Excuse the bad quality, I tried to keep the picture small)

As you can see, this is definatly not the normal keyboard people are used to. The circle of keys to the side is the main feature, completely replacing all need for the main part of the keyboard for gaming purposes. The keyboard came fully working, plug and play. No installation or general mayhem, the keys in the "circle" all work properly right out of the box.
For ease of reading, I'll do this Pro's/cons style.

Pros:
1: "Zomg a keyboard designed specifically for gaming?! Wow!" It looks really cool =P Especially if your friends are also gamers, generally, they would be jealous (It's a pro, dangit)

2: The circle of keys is really easy to learn to use, everything is placed ergonomically and once you're used to it (doesnt take very long, a week at max) it is so comfortable that you could play for hours and hours with little or no repositioning.

3: Everything you need for FPS games is RIGHT there, and if it's not, just keymap the ones you want where you want them. Your thumb naturally rests on the spacebar, and your pinky naturally rests on the shift key, so much easier to crouch or sneak, even if you're used to a normal keyboard.

4: Not only good for FPS games! I played WoW for many a month using this keyboard, and I gotta tell you its a huge advantage having all the keys you need right where you need them, no need to remap your movement keys to "RDFG" instead of "WASD" to get more mappable keys, they are all already set up for you.

5: Long USB connection, comes with a PS/2 adapter aswell if you need it. Other then the circle, the keyboard is a standard "qwerty" keyboard, minus the numpad.

6: Extremely sturdy built. None of this halfway flimsy attached crap, this thing is one solid peice of awesomeness. the plastic chassis is formed completely around the entire thing, and its two tone color scheme looks great.

Cons:

1: No numpad! What! How can this be? How will I type in numbers? Well, you have to do it the old fasioned way.

2: No media link keys! If you like being able to just hit a key to stop start or pause your music, or move to the next track, this keyboard doesnt come with features to do so, you might be able to program keys to do it, but I never tried.

3: No left hand support! The circle is mounted directly to the keyboard, its a solid peice of awesome. Unfortunatly, this means theres no room for lefties, heck, there isnt even a numpad for you to use. Fortunatly, if you like the idea of the circle, they also sell the circle seperatly, as its own standalone item.
4: Some of the keys are awkward to reach, but there are so many its not really a problem, as you can just program them elsewhere.

Overall I'd say every gamer who is tired of the average wasd config for fps or mmo, or anything inbetween should give this keyboard a shot. It's only $50 or so! Compared to other keyboards of similar quality, extremely cheap and worthwhile in my opinion.
Pwn in your favorite games like never before! Plus, you can do it in style.

Looks like a good product, I don't play too many games right now, but down the road when I get my Core 2 Duo DX10 system built, I will be looking to getting my money out of my Counter-Srike: Source subscription. Unfortunately for the keyboard manufacturer, I am a lefty, so they don't get my money for this product.

Ya i saw that a while ago. Wanted it bad..but im a lefty too soo..bah.

But I believe they have a detachable one too. Sold seprately. I believe its called the wolf king warrior and theres another one from a different company called cyber sniper.

Yay for lefty! (im also a lefty) but i use my right hand for pretty much everything elce! (like mouse) So that would be good for me!

Do the keys jump back nicely? I cant play with a keyboard that doesn't 'click' back in to place when i take my finger off. I am looking into getting one of these types of KB, but I don't know if I can order one w/o feeling it out first. recommendations? (i'm a righty, so blah)

Yes the keys click back in place very nicely. I've been using it for fairly hardcore gaming (4-8 hours a day) for a few months now and have not had any keys stick on me.
...then of course I routinly clean my keyboard, but so should everyone IMO.

That is awesome. I may just get an external one so i can still have a numpad... or maybe i'll get an external numpad! Hey, I should check into that, though I'm sure they make em for laptops. Anyways, since you use a gaming keyboard, do you also have any input on a gaming mouse? I have been looking at a few but don't know 1) if they are worth it, and 2) if I game enogh to need one. At one time in my life i did, but I dont see gaming that hardcore again... but yu never know. So yeah, still interested in the whole setup seeing that I'm in the market for all new KB, mouse & pad, and eventually a big moniter.

Eh, for non hardcore gaming pretty much any laser mouse will do.
I use a Microsoft 6000 series gaming mouse, but I'm pretty sure that's on the "low" end of gaming mouses.

Now that is a mouse =P Looks cool, 7 buttons. 2000 DPI (good god thats alot, my mouse is 1600 DPI and its sentivity is excellent)
It all really depends on how you like to play. If you like to be able to turn yourself around in FPS games in an instant with almost no mouse movement, the copperhead is a really good choice.
... Plus it has a single click DPI switch function, so you can slow it down on the fly (useful for sniping eh?)
...meh.. It's up to you though.
I'd just go for a quality laser mouse. Logitec makes some excellent ones, but I'd stay away from wireless if at all possible... for gaming anyways.
I don't care what anyone says, the latency and unreliablity created with wireless devices just won't do for gaming -.-;;

I agree 100% on wireless being unreliable. Have you gone to a comp store lately though? ALL wireless, kind of annoyed me. I heard that optical is better than laser, but i might have to dig a bit deeper. I'm all about fps, and I had a CS buddy that had his scroll bar button set to shoot his 3.0 sensitivity to 7 for the lookaround, then back. Pretty slick looking for sure. I really dont know what I'd do with 7 buttons though. I hate mice with the forward/back browser buttons... another thiing to get used to i guess. What would some of the extra buttons be used for? I havent talked to anyone who fps's w/ a nice mouse like that so I haven't a clue. Also, do you give in to the hype that mouse pads have just as much o do with it? there are some expensive ones out there.
