During power BlkOut No action in CPU Fan No action in PSU Fan No action in Auxilliary fan The PC is Directly plug in the main outlet (NO AVR) Brandnew Pre-build (Technicians Intructed). Very Stuborn Man He Blame my OS XP home(original), Virus, our electric source that cause the problems...... He Demands to Format and used other OS Change the Position of my PC Use UPS He dont believe my opinion PSU problem My Initial Findings is: Heat The problems source is the PSU Some parts of PSU must be busted/damage or the PSU is experiecing Overheat that leads to power cut-off. Is there other reason I want to know............... I live in Philippines where is sometimes hot speciallt at noon............. My Specs: Intel Cel D 2.66 LGA 512 DDR2 ECS PT880Pro-A Nvidia 256 FX 5500 350 watts PSU 80gig Seagate IDE |

Looking at your computer from the rear (where the cables plug in) on the right hand side along the very edge you will see two or three screws holding the side cover on, look all up and down that edge to see if there is a security label saying" Void if Removed". If there is not one of these stickers it would be quite easy to remove the afore mentioned screws and take the side cover off your computer, doing this will allow you to see the label on the side of your power supply enabling you to post back here with the make and model of the power supply.

That power supply is not listed in either the good or bad lists.
How old is your computer? is there any warranty time left? |

The AC power could be a problem if you have unstable power(low voltage, spikes, noise on the AC). Then an UPS may be in order. Check in the BIOS to see what the CPU temps are; 35 to 45C at idle is good.
A different OS probably won't make any differance. A hardware problem is probably the cause of the shutdowns, likely the PSU.

Hmm I have a simple question:
Question 1: Is the power demand likely "Hz/A/voltage" increases as I use it, like gaming about 4~6hrs or same with i turn it on and only the OS is running 1 day.(no apps, no game, XP Only) Sorry bad english: because the problem onli occurs when I used it in gaming about 4~8 hrs gap straight Question 2: Is the OS/Virus can cause this problem is there a way that the two prevent to start the PC (starting as in press power then 2 sec all blackout like the problem stated) OS> 2002 XP Home Edition SP1 (Gunuine OEM, License, Original, Microsoft Verified) Virus> Norton - none AVG - None Mc Afee - None Kaspersy - None Panda Online Scan - None No Spy onli some cookies No Malware detected No Adware detected Sub Ques: Is there a Virus that still undetected that prevent PC starting even the HDD is not yet dected The Technician blaming these he want me to install a new OS XP Pro (Pirited) he said he tested it for days and he didnt have a problem, probaly tested only w/ OS running only. Question Three: Is the 5 PC set all running w/ apps, games, internet connected in single electric extention cord beats 1 PC (the PC w/ blackout problem) connected to main outlet. Because the same technician blaming our electric source the same source that the 5 PC is connected through the extention cord. He want me to change the positon, he want it to connect its source to the extention cord that connected the main source..... WHAT DO ALL THINK IS THE TECHNICIAN HAVE A POINT..... blackout is cause by: unknown Virus, My License OS, our house electric source that can stably run multiple appliances....... SO Complicated Isnt It.... |

Supplier Brandnew PC SET Im suggesting them that i want to swap the PSU w/ my same Spec (perpectly same CPU/MOBO/GPU Card/350w/ddr2 512mb/sata HDD) but due to stuborness he didnt permit it due to warranty Issue... Note: I didnt know the exact source of the problem 100% but the syptoms it shows got me the feeling that is the source... I make it the prime suspects |

Hmm Easy to say but if u got that kind of technician Its better to fix the technician not the PC soo annoying and they process he want u to do that he think would solve the problems
Exp: No Power Cant start >>>Blame my software setup >>>or my Genuine OS is not Good>>> or it has virus, or >>>blame the sofware Installed or they say dont install the Nvidia Setup Driver blackout in 4~7hrs of pure gaming this is not 1995 PC set its a LGA set merely a high end specs...... |

If the computer is rebooting/shutting down when under load like gaming, then I would say that the power supply is one of these: under powered/going bad/poor quality.

Those are far from being high end specs. It's a Celeron, a low end ECS board with a VIA chipset, and a 3 generation old video card. Shops that build to those specs hardly ever use a quality power supply.

Merely <<<< for a small shop PC SET here in Our country. Even though almost all of the PC hardwares are made in China/Taiwan still its too expensive to buy what u want to consider high end. If come by here tell me if u find a small PC Shop that has greater specs than mine. but ignore the Pros I didnt buy a Pentium 4 due to lack of budget..... Where not that rich.

You are going to have to let the technician troubleshoot the way he/she wants in order to get this fixed under warranty. If you want to do it YOUR way, you may not be covered. I cannot troubleshoot your machine properly without sitting in front of it, all we can do is offer suggestions, which we have been doing. |
