Keyboard Not Working After Initial Boot Screen???
I am trying to wipe one of my HDD's with Killdisk. The PC boots from the Killdisk CD then gives me the option screen but I cant choose. The keyboard doesn't respond. I then rebooted via the reset button and tried to hit del to get into the BIOS. That worked fine so I know the keyboard isn't bad and the connection is good. I can navigate through all the BIOS pages using the keyboard and everything seems fine. It's just when I boot from a CD the keyboard doesn't respond or the computer doesnt respond to the Keyboard. Windows CD did the same thing... Says "Press any key to boot from CD"... I press any key and nothing happens. Doesn't boot from cd.
I am using a wireless logitec keyboard & an Abit MB. |

Try plugging in a different keyboard, preferably a wired PS/2 keyboard. It is most likely the keyboard you are currently using. Once you are finished formatting and then reinstaling windows, you can always plug your logitech keyboard back in.

I just donated my old keyboard and mouse to goodwill too... I knew this would happen. Is there a reason or is this typical for a wireless keyboard to not function on a boot CD menu? Seems strange that it would work fine in the BIOS but not the boot CD menu. I guess I'll have to run to Fry's to get a cheap keyboard.
