Recommendations for simply stated, high quality cases…

I am going to be doing a build for someone soon and need a case that is high quality, black, and simple, not flashy/tacky looking and not cheap metal/plastic. Also I don’t want it to include a power supply. So far these are my top two choices.

Anyone else have any other suggestions for cases this style? I want to be able to show around five different cases to the customer and have him pick the one he likes the best. Thanks.

My favs are Chenming, Codegen, Antec, Silverstone, Lian li, and coolermaster. They all make awesome cases.

Out of those two choices; lian li...

Matt,

Check out the Ever Case E4252BB-53 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower. New Egg has it for ~$37 plus shipping.

I picked it b/c it was tied the third best rated for quietness on the Silent PC Review forum. THe Antec P180 & P150 were better but cost more. Now there are some Zalman cases top rated. With the quite seasonic PS and operating the CPU fan varible speed, the only real noise in the system is the video card.

I recomment this case even if you are not into quiet computing. THe flat black look is clean & not too glossy. It has a lot of room to work. The only gripe I hear is from my wife because it is so deep, over 19" that it sticks out too far from the desk.

The version I have has a firewire front connector but I think there are models w/o that if you done need firewire. UserEasy provides HD shock prook kits that may make it even quieter.

Good Luck,
Rags

I've bought 35.00 cases and 150.00 cases. Sometimes, the 35.00 cases looked better and had more options than their more expensive alter egos. Look at pictures and specs Functionality is what it's all about. By the way, I'm thinking about that Lian for my 6600 build.

I have 6 Antec Sonata cases at work, which are nice. It's quiet and easy to work on and at home I have a Lian Li, which is also a nice case.

I have that case for one of my builds and I agree it's a very nice simple case.
