CD ROM running really slow
The CD ROM reader/burner in my IBM Intellistation M Pro copying music files into iTunes is running really slowly (0.7x or less). It seems to do other tasks such as loading software just fine. Any suggestions will be appreciated
Eq: Teac CD-W524E - 1.8C the firmware upgrade from Teac does not apprear to be compatible with this version of drive (1.0A-D only) Running Windows XP, xeon processor 2.2 GHz, .00 GB Ram Thanks, Neil |

Right click My Computer, Properties, Device Manager, and expand IDE/ATA ATAPI Controllers.
Double click primary and click advanced and make sure that it says DMA and not PIO. Do the same with the secondary and report back here.

By copying files into itunes do you mean ripping them from a music cd? If that is the case, then it will be slower than just normally copying files
