replacement motherboard

yeah so i just physically broke my motherboard...
to keep a long story short two of the jumper pins are bent and one of the battery type things is disconnected from the motherboard on one of the sides (positive or negative?)
and i cant return it to newegg since it is "physical damage"
well anyway
i need a new motherboard (socket939)
was thinking bout this one
need sli and sata
any suggestions?

The board you linked to is of good quality - Asus make great boards, and that one in particular is very nice. I'd say unless you need all of those features you might want to look at a similar board for a bit less money - but that is up to you/ your usage of the computer.

How did you actually break your motherboard ? Is the battery type thing you are talking about a capacitor?

Are you SURE that you can't fix it? Is this a new build? If you can't fix it and it's a new
build, just look for a new Socket 939 mobo with all of the features you want.

If it's a replacement because your old mobo died, try to get one with as similar a chipset
as possible to the old one, so that you can migrate your hard drive (hopefully, it won't
blue screen because the chipset drivers may be similar enough to let it boot and
configure itself well enough to save your data).

Or try to slave your hard drive on another machine to extract your data if the above doesn't
work.

I also recently built a new core 2 duo to replace my ageing xp 2400 and didnt have to reinstall xp it just booted up!

... Just keep in mind It usually is a good idea to reinstall windows after any major hardware change...

well yeah if i could do that id be fine, the pins can be bent back with pliers but the capacitator is a diffrent story, would i have to sodder it?
