MS Ergonomic Keyboard 4000

After installing keyboard and updates, when typing unintended characters, punctionion and spaces are "automatically" added. OS is MS-XP Pro SP2, 1 GB of memory all updates current. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the keyboard with the same result. However installing a "different" keyboard resolves the problem, so it is something related to the MS keyboard? There is no info in the MS KB related to the prooblem, help with resolving the problem is appreciated, TKS,

Are you suggesting uninstall and reinstall the Intellitype software, if so that has been tried. Or are you suggesting uninstalling Intellitype altogether? If so, will the keyboard still work? TKS for the help,

The keyboard will work just fine as a standard keyboard with no drivers. It will use the standard Windows keyboard drivers. If it still does it with the standard drivers, the keyboard is defective. If it fixes it, your Intellitype was corrupted or misconfigured.

I avoid installing specific keyboard and mouse drivers unless I *need* specific functions that are not supported by the default Windows drivers. Standard Windows drivers support a 104 key keyboard and a 2 button mouse with scroll wheel.
