Removing A partition with Vista RC1 installed on it

Hello, I am fairly new at this so I hope that this is not the same question in different words that was answered not too long ago. I have three hard drives installed on my windows XP computer; my F: drive (storage drive) D: (a 10 gig drive that I had files on that was installed when I formated. and my C: drive my os drive. Now on the C: drive I have a 50 and 30 gig partion (H. The 50 gig has windows Xp installed the 30 gig has Windows Vista RC1. Well, the problem occured when I removed the D: drive. I planned on using it in another computer strictly for Voice while gaming and some very small apps. After I removed it, fixed the jumpers, and insured that all wires were connected properly I got this message; NTLDR is missing I booted from the windows xp cd and did a repair, I also tried fixing the boot sector through various commands. (I'm sorry I have a list at home but am not there), I did not however, try fixing the MBR because I got a message that said I may lose ALL of my data on the entire drive. I reinstalled the 10 gig drive and it booted fine. I guess the title of this post is a bit misleading because my primary goal is to remove the 10 gig and use it while my secondary goal is to safely delete the Vista partition. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
