Question about DVDs

Is there any reason why a DVDR (with pictures burned to it with a pc) would not play in a standard DVD player? Does it have something to do with the session being closed or left open at the time of burning?

DVD players cannot view data DVD's. There is nothing to "play". To play a DVD, it has to be authored as a DVD.

Do you have a DVD player that has the jpeg viewer software on it? Take a look at your manual, and it will explain what DVD disks it is compatible with and what procedure you need to use to allow the DVD player to read the pictures. Our cheapo DVD player on the 2nd tv has that functionality, but the disks must be DVD-R/RW and must be finalized to be viewed on the DVD player.
