Do cold cathodes become dimmer after time? Pics…

My UV cold cathodes don’t seem nearly as bright as they used to be, I really noticed this today when I looked a pic if my computer a year ago. I guess I could buy new ones, they were only like 20 from Frozen CPU with custom sleaving. Then again I don’t really mind it dim, its not overpowering and certainly not as annoying at night when sleeping. Could this also be caused by an increased draw on the power supply? I did not have my video card or as many hard drives back then.

Usually cathodes do loose their intensity overtime. Poorer quality ones usually do it faster.

I personally prefer vastech and logisys for my cathode needs.

Sometimes you just get a bad batch.
