Inkjet or laser? Budget? Do you need fax? Do you need network capability?

I've been very satisfied with my Canon MP800. There are newer and cheaper models out there though.

Just a tad over 200 bucks and it does have a fax - but it has an internal Ethernet print server, just plug it into your router. Print from any computer on the network, scan to any computer on the network, fax from any PC on the network (if you care about that). EDIT: $199.99 direct from HP, there's an instant rebate going on it. Last edited by glc; 10-19-2006 at 08:02 PM. |

glc how would you compare the HP Photosmart C5180 with the HP Office Jet 6310? I can read the specifications of each but how would you rate the performance and reliability. I notice that the C5180 can also be used with a network and doesn't have fax which I don't need anyway, plus it is smaller. These are definite advantages. I am not certain that the network capability of the C5180 is as good as the 6310. Do you know if it is? I will appreciate your opinion.

I missed that one - it's just as networkable, it has an internal print server. Looks good. No fax, no document feeder. Separate ink carts for each color - a plus.
