Thumb Drive and External HDD not showing up..

i just reformated my computer to win xp corporate and when i plug in my thumb drive and external hdd, it's not recognizing it. nothing shows up under my computer. help?

Do the usb ports show up in device manager?

You probably need to reinstall all your motherboard and device drivers - and upgrade to SP2.

yes it does. i was trying to get "usbehci.sys" on the system using my thumb drive since something needed it. and that was the problem. i went into the device manager and right clicked on the NIC and told it to automatically install and thank god it did. i just accessed my other computer computer on the network and got it.
