logitech setpoint problem
I have a logitech mx610 mouse, with my old cherry keyboard all worked well, but i since i replaced it with an ex110 desktop keyboard the 'extra' buttons on the mouse like tilt left and right, sound up down, etc no longer work.
The keyboard came with a simple infared mouse that i don't use (it was cheaper with a mouse than a separate keyboard). i uninstalled setpoint, installed the one from the cd that came with the keyboard, and it detected both my mx 610 mouse and keyboard like normal. I can set all the options, but when i press any of the extra mouse keys, nothing happens. the extra media keys on the keyboard do work. (and the green "osd" comes up while setting volume etc. ) both usb receivers are connected to ps2, as i was having response problems with the mouse when connected to usb. Can 2 different wireless logitech devices cause trouble with each other?

It is possible there is a conflict, but there really shouldn't be. I was in a similar situation; I bought the EX110 keyboard to go along with my existing MX1000 mouse, and I haven't had any conflicts.
Try uninstalling the Setpoint that came with the CD, and instead download the latest version from the Logitech website. The CD version might be outdated. |

Have you installed the latest setpoint drivers?
Sorry late with typing this reply! |

I uninstalled setpoint, rebooted and installed the new version from the website, but it actually got worse with the mouse. It used to show a picture of the mx610 mouse in the settings program, now it just shows a white outline of a normal mouse, and the settings for the mail and im button on the right are gone, the 'select mouse' option still says mx 610, but the options are only for the normal mouse that came with the keyboard. It doesn't give me another choice there. The keyboard part works normal.
I wish it were at least the other way round, as i do use the extra buttons on the mouse, and not the ones on the keyboard Is there any way to make this setpoint delete a device and let it recognize it again? I tried by plugging the mouse into a usb slot but that didn't help. Last edited by grasshopperbe; 11-08-2006 at 04:13 PM. |
