Help needed with old Lexar SmartMedia Reader

Hi,
I haven't used this in a long time, and never used it on my laptop - but now I need to and can't get it to work.

I have an old Fujifilm MX-1200 1.3 megapixel digital camera (http://www.fujifilm.co.uk/technical/folder.pl?id=51) which uses a Lexar Media Smart Media Reader to move pics to my computer via USB. On my previous computer I had this working - although I faintly remember it taking a while to sort out - but I cannot get it recognised on this laptop.

I downloaded the software listed at the link above, and installed it but still the USB isn't recognised.

I have Driver Guide Toolkit and had backed up the drivers on my old computer - I have checked that backup but there doesn't seem to be any different drivers there which I don't have on this laptop. Both also used Windows XP home edition.

So I'm at a loss - anyone have any ideas please?

Thanks for reading.
