Keyboard not working sometimes
It is a curved type (ergonomic) Microsoft brand. I've always used it on my lap and only the past 3/4 weeks it will not work half the time. If I hold it up to get it started it does all right until the next time. Is it dying and needs replacing? It has bells and whistles I never use and if replacement is needed it will be a vanilla model... I've checked connections and they are always OK. I don't think it could be memory... I have one gig. Thanks so much for your help.

First troubleshooting step is try a different keyboard.

Sounds like you've hit the nail on the head, the keyboard could be on its last legs, although not necessarily. Since you say this is a keyboard with media keys im guessing its goin to be usb, it could be a driver problem. But if you need to physically move it about to get it working i'd start scouting for a new keyboard.
