dBA

So, what is considered loud for dBA? Is a 35dBA fan 'loud?' I'm looking at this:

If it is reasonably quiet, I'm going to pick one up.

I know it is a personal thing, but would you put one in your cases?

It's not going to be abesolutely silent - but it shouldn't be a roar either. If you're looking to move air - that'll do it. If you're looking for very silent, that won't be it. I'd call it moderately loud. I've got some fans similar to it, and they aren't bad. Move a ton of air, without being that loud.

For reference, here's loud:

Here's silent:

Thanks a lot... well I'm looking to put it in a Cooler Master case that I like that unfortunately only comes with a 120mm blue LED fan preinstalled as intake. I decided to get a fan instead of cathodes, for safety reasons - I don't fully trust cathodes for some reason.

Haha Cricket, that made me laugh so hard... thanks for the reference. I think since the one blue LED fan is in the front, I will go with a moderately quiet non-LED fan in the rear.

Remember, not all fan manufacturer's put out a correct dba rating. This is due to their being no standard in DBA testing. Some will test it from 6ft away, others from 1-2ft.

If you wanna learn some more check this post.
