Ram Newbie
I'll wait for this to be move for tips but since this is a high traffic area I will tell you another common thing about Ram:
If you are upgrading an older system with 16, 32 mb of ram. temporarily download a program that will read it's Mhz setting (Ram not cpu) (Dr. Hardware would be an example)
basically mixing your 16, 32 mb or ram from an older system with your brand new 128, 256 (PC100 or PC133) is detrimenatal to some computers. But you can find out for yourself by letting the 128 or higher Ram run by itself.
*note* it will help if the 32 or minus ram is PC100 or PC133.
Bottem line is: Heldover Ram rated at 66mhz slows the newer Ram down. Don't bring over your old soggy Ram to a newer system.
