recommendation for external DVD burner
hey everyone, so i want an external dvd burner but not sure what are the good brands. I want it to burn dual layer discs (don't all of them do this though?) what else do i need to look for, in a dvd burner? i know black friday has some good deals, but i want to know im getting a reliable burner. thanks guys!

Keeping in mind that it'll be slower then an internal drive would be....I'd get an Internal drive with an external case. Should save some $$ this way....Don't forget about the issue of needing burning software for each of the computers that you'll use the drive with,,,

what do you mean an external dvd burner would be slower than an internal one? what kind of casing should i look for? any ideas on a good internal dvd burner? external casing? thanks EzyStvy!

It'll be slower due the the limitations of the USB connection versus the interal IDE connection...
NEC, LG and LiteOn are good drives...Not much difference in 5" external cases except I'd avoid Bytec. |
