Cool What ya think of this New Build(AM2 Socket)

Hiya Dudes

I'm ordering the parts for my new build and before the order goes through I would like your opinions on my choice. All parts are in my budget and as mutch as I would like the GTX video card I just can't afford it, I've been away from PC building for awhile so just need to know if everything will go together ok, gonna go with the AM2 socket am concerned if my choice of power supply will be ok with the 8800.

AMD Athlon64 X2 4200+

MSI K9N SLI Platinum Socket AM2 Motherboard

Corsair XMS2 Dual Channel kit 2x 512MB PC2-6400 DDR2 (800Mhz) Memory

XFX nVidia GeForce 8800GTS PV-T80G-THF9 640MB PCI-Express 16x Video Card

Samsung Spinpoint SP2504C 250GB 7200RPM SATA-II Hard Disk Drive

Thermaltake Mambo (Black) Mid-Tower Case

Enermax Liberty 400W (P4 & AMD) ATX 2.2 Modular Power Supply Unit (nVIDIA SLI / ATI Crossfire Ready)

Samsung 940BW (Silver) 19" Widescreen TFT Flat Panel Display 1440x900 4ms response time

Anything you would change? any downfalls to having a widescreen monitor?

thanks in advance guys

I think that you should get a 10,000RPM hard drive, instead. There is a noted improved performance.
Secondly, PSU. You should get something like this:

Thermaltake ToughPower

For the 8800, you PC wouldn't probably start, with only a 400 watt power supply.

Otherwise it looks good.

Still may want to look into the 750w version from Thermaltake or another reputable manufacturer. If you want two of those in SLI, they will be power hungry.

+1 on this, I wouldn't be too keen on building a PC with two 8800s with less than a 700W PSU.

If your thinking about a single card, a nice 500w would be more then sufficient.

For SLI, your looking at a very high quality 700-750w. OR a quality 750-850W.

That hard drive he has listed will run as fast as a 10,000rpm raptor...and do it cheaper...

I've benched both....I'd get the Seagate...

kb/s are the same but the Seagate has a better burst...
