keyboard Not recognized by Computer

Hey everybody,

I started my computer up last week (I built it) and Everything was working fine. now today after I restarted my computer, the Keyboard woulden't work...I thought maybe it was just a bad USB port or something, but then my mouse stopped too. I changed my mouse to an old PS2 mouse and that works, but I'm worried that there's a problem with my USB drivers or my mobo or something? anyone know how to fix this?

Sometimes when windows boots it can take an additional few seconds with the usb devices. Ive had this before on a system where the mouse took an extra 15 seconds or so to start up. I'm skeptical it could be this since it sounds like its been working fine, although id suggest that you boot up with you usb mouse and keyboard plugged in, when you gt to the login screen just leave it a minute or two and see if they pick up. I know this doesnt really help in the long term but its a possibility.
Also, have you tried your mouse / Kb in another pc?

THey're on the mobo, but I've tried using the PCI ports as well.

I've tried EVERY SINGLE HARDWARE solution I can think of, every permuntation of this plug into that, new keyboards, different computers, different timings, opening up the case and tightening the Mobo connections, etc. EVERYTHING.

The keyboard lights up BEFORE windows has loaded, but when windows loads, it stops.(default the keyboard has it's blue lights on, so I know when it stops being powered by when the light goes out)

can't get drivers, or find hardware on Windows, or anything. I think I just have to go through BIOS or something to fix it, but I'n not sure, cus I've checked BIOS, and IDK how to fix this.

I would first hook up an old PS2 Keyboard and mouse and then go into safe mode and delete the USB Root Hub out of the device manager and reboot windows and let windows reinstall the USB ports. I have had this problem before with other USB devices that just stopped working and did this solution and it corrected the problem. I am not guaranteeing that this will fix your issue, but it did for me.

I'm assuming it's missing something
