Overclocking my AMD 939 2.4gh 64

Well i am upgrading my PC this year and the idea of overclocking my new proccessor has me psyched. After hearing people talking about overclockin this procssor over 3ghz i found the idea very attractive. I was wondering if anyone else has overclocked this same proccesor or has any experience with it and could give me some tips. Im new to overclocking but i think it would save lots of money in future years while giving me max performance now. What type of cooling system should i use? Should i use Water cooling? And if so at what level of overclocking?

Uh, WHICH processor are we talking about????? The 4000+ single cores are decent overclockers, but I don't know of many that have hit 3.0Ghz. The 4800+ CPU's....well.....you're HIGHLY unlikely to get one that does much over 2.8 let alone 3.0. JMO.

well we need to know WHAT athlon 64 it is.

like...

3200+
3800+
4000+

that sort of thing. Once you give us that number we can pretty much tell you how far it will overclock.

I've read that with nearly every amd processor, bumping your processor up .2 ghz is usually just fine. If you go further, well, that usually depends on how good your ram is and, perhaps more importantly, how well your case is cooled.

hope that helps
