RAM for Asus M2N32 SLI Deluxe - second chance please help.

Mobo will not post. Receiving one long beep and two short beeps consecutively until auto shutdown. Called Asus support and they suggest Ram compatibilty issue is at stake.

Board was bench tested with Corsair CM2X1024-5400C4 1GB DDR2-675 XMS2-5400 Xtreme Performance Memory Retail. The web site recommended this chip to be compatible with this board.

I RMA'd this board back to Newegg last night but before I actually ship it back for the refund I want to give it another fair chance. I've been reading many reviews and it seems that most sucessful system POST occur with DDR2 800 or Low Latency Ram(I don't know what low latency means)

I know this is a high quality board with great features. I hate to lose out on a small technicality. I can't afford the risk of getting burned with a defective board though. Anyhow, could someone recommend memory that stands a good shot for this board. I can have memory shipped and tested before my RMA number expires.

I prefer to have 1G total to start out with. Two 512 would work for dual channel or a 1G stick for the A1 slot. In the mean time I am also looking. Note: I need the best price as I have went over my budget on this build attempt already.

If I can get this Mobo to post correctly on the bench... I would most likely desire to keep this build and not send it back. Hopefully this forum can be there for me should I need any help along the way.

This build is supposed to be used as a media center and lots of extreme video editing and recording. I just wanted to put in the basic high quality components to start out with and upgrade later as I go along. I feel this type of board will last a few good years and will support future technology.

I would send that memory back for Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 memory with standard timings. Try to work out a deal for shipping with Newegg - they are very considerate when it comes to this.

I see absolutely no reason why your memory should not work. It is the exact same chips as in the higher corsair ddr2 800 modules.

I suspect bad ram. I would RMA it for a new pair and see how that does.

Because if theres any memory that will work with am2, it would be this. Newegg has a very lax return policy.

You can just go through the website if you have bought the product within 30 days. Ive had newegg take back items that I bought from them a year ago.

Newbuilder14, my corsair was purchased at ZipZoomFly and still waiting for RMA #

Mr. Ferrari, this is my first experience purchasing computer hardware online so I am not aware about Newegg being lax. In order to prevent further expenses and to keep my total investment from going sour, I felt I needed to abide in a timely manner with RMA policies respective to my purchase on those particular sites.

Im facing costly restocking fees plus the expired mail in rebates I'm kissing goodbye to is nothing to sneeze at. Both losses combined would be enough to buy at least 2G's of high quality DDR2 800 ram or it would keep me drunk for an entire month.
