carnt install sata drivers
im tryin to install the sata drivers so my system will install windows xp sp2 and i keep gettin a error message file txtsetup.oem caused an unexpected error (512) at line 1747 in d:\xpsprtm\base\boot\setup\oemdisk.c." can anybody help me? the motherboard is a MSI VIA K8M890 chipset based K9VGM-V and the hard drive is a Western Digital WD 1200JS caviar SE 120gb 72000rpm sata 2/300

Is this a home built or name brand computer?
What are the complete system specs for this computer? List parts by brand and model. Does the SATA HDD show up in the BIOS? Are the SATA drivers on a floppy disk? How did you make the disk?  Cricket

this is a home built computer. the full specs are wester digital WD 1200JS caviar SE 120 gb sata 2/300 hard drive, MSI K9VGM-V motherboard AMD sempron 2800+ AM2 socket processer corsair 512mb 240pin ddr2 ram, lite on 16x dvd drive, sony floppy drive, xfx nvidia 7300le graphics card and a 400w psu. i can see the drive in bios and in post when it boots up. i have copied the drives from the cd that came with the motherboard to floppy and also downloaded them from the MSI website.

Are you just dragging the file from the CD? Or are you double clicking on the file to execute it and then if creates a bootable floppy with the drivers on it?
