Looking for another HD
I curently have a 36GB Raptor and a 80GB WD 7200...both are at least 3 years old and have never had a problem.
I am currently booting/gaming with the Raptor.....storage with the 7200. Problem is that the Raptor is getting a little full and I would like to get another one, to either run regular or in Raid 0.(I would have nothing of importance stored on the raid, just games......and just for the simple fact that I like to play with the technology). I really dont need any more than the 36GB. Questions: I have the 8mb Raptor, will it work in Raid 0 with a 16mb Raptor of the same size? I am planning to build a new system in about 6 months. Should I wait and buy another HD then? Is there going to be a new speed in HDs anytime soon that a new mobo will support? Thanks.

Yes you could mix the raptors provided they are both 36megs.

No, I do not recommend mixing drives in RAID 0 - they should not only be the same model, but with the same firmware revision too. RAID 0 is touchy enough without adding variables.
