Accidently deleted partition
I accidently deleted the partition on my external hard drive while doing a reinstall of Windows. I had the drive still plugged in and when I was deleted the partition on I though was my hard drive on my computer, I choose to delete the partition on my external. Is there anyone that knows how if possible to restore this lost data?

did you do a quick format or a complete format? Its possible that you can get the data back by using a program called "test disk" It allows the partition table to be restored.

There are several programs that can help recover your data. PCINSPECTOR is one I have heard a lot about and i think it is still free. The first thing to do is disconnect the drive until you are ready to proceed so you don't accidentally write anything else to the drive. Personally I use Stellar Recovery and have lots of luck with it. But it's anything but free. You can downlaod a trial to see what can be recovered though. Good Luck. HTH
