New motherboard BIOS not detecting optical drives properly

I recieved my K8N Neo4 motherboard earlier today to replace the DFI Lanparty and built the machine once more. No big problems with that, it's booting and going to the BIOS fine. However, the drives are not being detected right. It's picking up the hard drives absolutely fine (won't boot from them though even though they're in the boot order, I assume I need to reinstall windows for that?)

The optical drives however (Asus DVD ROM[DVD-E616A], and an LG [GSA-4167B] Multi CD/DVD R/W) are being reported wrong. They are both recieving power, I can open and close both of them fine, but the only drive that is being detected in the BIOS and is able to read media is the LG drive. However the BIOS is reporting it as the Asus.

I haven't checked what the jumper settings are, but would that be a good place to start looking (perhaps the BIOS doesn't like optical drives on cable select or something)? maybe it's a bad IDE ribbon? I'm just looking for potential ideas here for the problem. It's a minor thing but one I'd rather fix.

I have to head out to pay a bill and try to pick up an FDD cable so I can do backups of my data before wiping, hopefully they'll be some useful stuff here to look through when I get back.

If the opticals are on an 80 wire cable, they both should be CS, if they are on a 40 wire cable, use MA and SL.

You need to do a repair reinstall of Windows, procedures are in Tips and Tricks. No need to wipe.

Well I ended up pulling the drives out, setting the jumpers to master and slave and reseating the ribbons. They both read fine now.

Unfortunately I couldn't find an FDD cable. Poor little floppy drive.
