Installation of OS additional Hd

Hi all,

I intend to purchase an additional internal HD about 500 gig put two partitions on it in the first patition would be Win XP OS along with 100 gig of space mainly as a back up for current C drive and in the second would just be for storage, the latter being a slave which would be in operation most of the time.

Second Question,
I have two external Seagate HD 400 gig each (usb) would it be possible to place OS on them and operate as in the manor above?

Any help much appreciated.

You're going to install WinXP on the first partition of an additional hard drive? Why?

Why would you want to?

Honestly, I have no idea what you're trying to do. Why do you want to install an OS on all your hard drives?

If you already have a primary drive with XP on it, you can install additional drives, internal or external, and partition them any way you want for storage. You do not need an operating system on any of the additional drives and partitions. You can use imaging software to store images of your primary drive, this is the most effective backup solution.
