HP Pavilion drive problems

I recently purchased a pavilion 7560 pc with a 300gb hard drive but when I started up the drives were configured wrong with the recovery drive being 300gb and the operating drive being 18gb. so I created recovery disk and wiped the 300gb drive which is now empty but windows is installed on the 18gb drive which is still the primary C drive how do I switch to the 300gb drive becomes the defualt C drive

Find out which brand of drive it is, download the software from the manufacturer, and do a zero fill format to wipe out everything on the drive.

Do you have 2 physical hard drives, or is it a single 320gb drive with 2 partitions?

Tempus - that recommendation is not appropriate - yet. Let's find out some more exact details and what the poster really wants to do. I've never heard of HP only using a 18gb partition for the OS.

it was supposed to be a 18gb partition for recovery and 280gb for os but they were configured backwards so the os was put into the 18gb with recovery on the 280gb partition i have read reviews for the type of pc i had looking for why i only had 18gb of storage and i saw that this has happened before so i made the recovery disk and wiped the 280gb drive but i want to know how do i reverse it so my os is on the 280gb partition as it should be

I don't know if you have partition magic but with that you could change the partition size.

If your recovery disks work, you can totally wipe the drive with Killdisk or Darik's Boot & Nuke - you won't have *any* partitions left. The recovery disks should repartition correctly.
