I mostly use mine to take work files back and forth to home with. I also use one at home to transfer files between our computers.

Transferring files to and from school, and also carrying portable apps such as Firefox so that I don't have to use IE at school.

Also I store a small amount of music on their, so if I should get bored or want some background noise - I don't need to stream it off the net, I have it there already.

I carry my usernames and passwords around using Password Safe so I can access bank accounts and other secured websites from anywhere. I also keep drivers on them in case I hose a computer and need to reinstall stuff. If you don't have the right NIC drivers, it is pretty hard to download other drivers!

Well I am a psychology major in college so a copy of all my papers and reports go on my flash drive. As long as I have my keys, I'll always have a backup of the real impotent stuff no matter what happens.

I also keep a copy of Portable FireFox, Portable Thunderbird, Foxit PDF reader, and OpenOffice Portable on there so that I don't have to worry about school computers not being set-up the way I like when I can't bring my laptop.

I transfer files, store some basic installation files for getting a user's computer up and running, some spyware utilities, a VNC client, and some music in case I get stuck waiting for something to finish.

I'm in a band--when we need to learn a song that one guy has got, we all bring flash drives and violate the snot out of copyrite laws!!

And I carry some important drivers on there--W2k SP4, etc...

VNC is a remote control program--carrying the client on a flash drive is quicker than downloading it...

Check out the homepage sometime Tim. Plenty of good stuff. Such as our own guide to Remote Connection by Jason Faulkner. http://www.pcmech.com/show/internet/1048/

To the topic at hand, I too use mine to transfer files from home to school. I also keep various utilities for anti-virus, anti-spyware, etc to clean PCs.
