Keyboard Problem

Recently after I restart my computer my keyboard will stop working. My comp will detect it and everything starts up fine. The special keys that open up the internet home page or whatever work fine, its all the other keys A-Z 0-9 F1-F12 that dont work (the important ones!) Everything but the special ones dont do anything if I hit them. But the thing is, if I move the keyboard to a new usb port that I have not plugged it into before it works fine. Then I move it back to the one I had it in before and now it doesnt work again. Ive tried 2 different keyboards and its the same problem with both. So I looked around here on the forum and saw this:

"I would first hook up an old PS2 Keyboard and mouse and then go into safe mode and delete the USB Root Hub out of the device manager and reboot windows and let windows reinstall the USB ports."

Do you think this would work? Does deleting them do anything harmful or does windows just reinstall anything that it needs when you restart?

I built my system myself:

It doesn't do anything harmful, but your USB ports won't work while the hub is disabled. Did you get software with the keyboard? You might first try uninstalling and then re-installing that if you did.

You can also update the driver for the USB hub from the mfr's website.
