CD R/W not recognized

I am working on a PC that is having a problem with the CD R/W. I installed the CD R/W as master on the secondary IDE and the normal CD Rom as the slave on the secondary IDE per the instructions that were sent with the CD R/W. The CD R/W was picked up as a Lite-on LTR 12102C. I popped in a CD and was able to read and install a program from it fine. I installed NTI CD Maker 2000 which came with the CD R/W. When I try to open NTI CD Maker 2000, it says that it does not recognize that a supported CDR or CD R/W is attached. I checked again and I could still insert a CD into it and it was able to read it fine.

To experiment, I attached the normal CD ROM as slave on the primary IDE with the hard drive and left the CD R/W as master on the secondary to see if it needed to be by itself. Same error when opening NTI CD Maker.

Any ideas?

Make sure that you have at least version 4.1.46 of the NTI software. If not, get the update.
