Hi all, I need a little help if you could please.
I have had my HP deskjet 610CL for about 2-3 years now. I purchased it with my Hp computer. Now recently I've been having problems with it. I didn't use it for a while so my Color cartridge's ink turned into a solid and my black ink cartridge was empty. I refilled the black one and attempted to do do the same with the color. The black one worked but the color didn't. When i purchased a new color one i ened up filling the black one up with some more ink(for some unknown reason). It started leeking and never ened. So I threw it away. Now I only have a corlor cartridge and when I attempt to print the printer moves around and stirs up a bit, but never intakes the paper. The computer says that the printer is not responding and the orange 'no paper' light on the printer starts blinkingbut I have plenty of paper in the printer. Please help if you can. Thanks a million in advance. |

As far as printing, the printer requires both cartriges to be installed to Operate.
For HP the Black ink cartridge is liquid filled and when you refill it you have to squeeze the cartridge while you seal it with the screw. The color cartridge is made up with three sponges, and if they dry out they cannot be refilled and work. The color ones need to be refilled before they run out to keep printing with quality. |

I believe that the 610 is a single cartridge printer. When the cartridge leaked it probably gummed something up inside the printer. You have nothing to lose - open it up and do a thorough cleaning. Professional repair will cost you more than the printer is worth.
This is one reason why I do not like to refill ink cartridges. If you want to save money, buy professionally refilled cartridges. Refilling your own always has risks. |

I just purchased a 610CL for a customer and it does have two cartridges, the earlier 510CL had one.
Refilling has also posed problems for me. I refilled the black in my hp all-in-one and now it sometimes skips when printing fine horizontal lines. I did apply pressure to the cartridge when filling it. the cartridge has a small ball (like ball bearing) in the bottom to plug the hole and the refill kit came with a plug but was too small. I had to modify it to work. Installing both cartridges and see if the printer works. If your quality with the black cartridge diminishes I would suggest this time to buy a new black catridge and then trying to refilling or have them refilled next time now that you know some of the obstacles. Also, try using your printers cartridges more ofter, even just a test page to keep them from drying up.

The 610 has carriers for both cartridges at the same time? If so, the statement that they both have to be in is correct.
