mouse problems

We have tried different mice. I have a Dell Latitude D600. this even happens if you unplug the 2 usb mouse we have been using and you use the built in pad for the laptop. It especially happens inside my husbands fantasy football site. The mouse just kind of goes haywire and you can't find it it or get it back for a few seconds. he types stuff in and than he lets go and the mouse just immediately goes to the top of the page. It's hard to explain, it just really acts funny. Any ideas for settings to look at?

Turn off the touchpad in the bios. Does that Latitude also have the pointing stick embedded in the keyboard?

mouse problems

I'm just getting a chance to read this.

The pointing stick is in the middle of the laptop below the G and the H.
I did make a change and we are seeing if that helps. In the mouse properties there is some setting for if your typing move mouse to the top of the screen. I shut that off. I also turned on if you lose where the mouse is - hit control. We'll see and if not than I'll go into the bios and see if that helps. Why did you ask about the pointing stick?

Is it possible you are touching the touchpad or the stick when typing? It's best to turn off the internal devices when using an external mouse.
