Has anyone ever seen this work? This dude says he made a special ribbon cable to connect three devices to one IDE connector, and plugged all this stuff onto a FIC-AD11 motherboard, and they all work I call this B.S. Any comments or is this question too stupid to answer?

I'm curious as to how his motherboard recognized his third device since motherboards only look for a primary master/slave and secondary master/slave at startup and only have settings for either in the bios. IMHO, this can't be done. Now with SCSI, it's a different story though.

It MIGHT be possible, but I have never had the opportunity to test it to prove it. While messing around with jumpers on 2 Quantum 6.4Gb drives, I set them both to the "reserved" setting. When I detected the drives in the BIOS, it registered as a single 12.8Gb drive! I never did mess with it any more, so I can't give you any more details on the situation, but if I ever have 2 Quantums in my hands again, I'm gonna give it a try to see if I can FDISK, Format, and load an OS on it. Other than running across this unusual situation, I would think he is blowing smoke.

SCSI
Expansion cards do not count. I doubt the hard drives operate as individual units if they are detected as one. I must ask this guy to put his money where his mouth is. Thanks for responding.
