HD Question

Since I put this pc (sig) together I haven't been happy with the performance of the HD's I choose.. They seem to be slower in reading, writing data than I have expected.. I called WD today and they told me these two HD are more for a server set up with a server OS than what I am using them for.. Question would I see a performance difference by running this as a raid set up or not? I may opt and just purchase another IDE HD, more than likely the Segate that is often mentioned on this forum.. My two current HD are: WD1500ADFDRTL and WD1500AHFDRTL...

There is no reason why a Raptor will not perform as fast as any other drive on the planet.

Indeed, if anything a raptor should be quicker... are you sure they're SATA 150mb though? if its a new drive it Should be sata2... check on the drives if you set the jumper to sata1 or sata2 settings. Check your startup as stated. Do a disk defrag. Let us know of the results.

(by the way I love your rig, its quite similar to mine, in more than one area isnt the 900 nice? and the speakers, whooie :P:P)
