DVD audio question

Hello,

After trying everything I could with my problem, I decided to post it here. When viewing movies with real magic DVD station, the DVD audio skips frequently during movie playback. The only thing that I've changed is move the holywood+ decoder to PCI slot #3 next to my SB live sound card(PCI slot #4). I moved them because my promise controller went bad and rearranged all the PCI cards. I also tried enabling/disabling DMA in the control panel, installing and uninstalling the Amd chipset drivers with no luck. Also one of my memory modules went bad and I am currently with 128MB. I don't have this problem with WinDVD and PowerDVD.

Any help appreciated.

Is your sblive/dvd decoder card/videocard sharing any IRQ's? If so, with what? HTH

Hello,

I uninstalled the Amd 751 chipset drivers, installed them again and the problem was gone. Only this time, the drivers won't let me enable the dma function of the DVD ROM. Just in case, here is my IRQ info:

IRQ 3 AMD 756 PCI to USB Open Host Controller
IRQ 3 ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering
IRQ 5 REALmagic Hollywood Plus
IRQ 5 NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/GeForce2 Pro
IRQ 5 ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering
IRQ 10 Creative SB Live! series
IRQ 10 ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering
IRQ 11 U.S. Robotics Gaming Modem
IRQ 11 ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering
IRQ 14 Primary Bus Master IDE controller
IRQ 14 AMD-756 Bus Master IDE Controller V1.32
IRQ 15 Secondary Bus Master IDE controller
IRQ 15 AMD-756 Bus Master IDE Controller V1.32

Is there anything I could do to disable the IRQ sharing?

Thanks.

Hi again,

Do you have anymore free pci slots? Have you tried putting the decoder in a different pci slot to see if that helps any? Also, read the readme that comes with the AMD chipset drivers, it mentions something about DMA in there if I remember right. HTH
